Teaching Programs

Karen Vidler has passed on book & paper conservation and bookbinding skills and knowledge since 2010.

She teaches at an international level and has been a visiting tutor at several international institutions such as West Dean College, UK, The State Archive of Croatia, Zagreb, National Library of Singapore, and State Library of Victoria, Melbourne. Her teaching programs are structured around the framework for professional standards as set down by The Institute for Conservation (ICON), UK, and the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Materials (AICCM).

Karen teaches at client studios and at her conservation bindery in Adelaide. She also delivers seminars and workshops on collection care for custodians of collections in libraries and archives. She has supervised interns and work placement students from the UK, Australia, Belgium and the United States of America – see the Teaching Gallery.
